The two Pune-based real estate dealers arrested last week by the Navi Mumbai police for allegedly possessing of arms have allegedly told the police that they procured the weapons to gain an upper hand on local criminal elements in a locality in Pune where they had recently bought a plot of land. The Turbhe police in Navi Mumbai had last week arrested Arshad Ahmed (24), Danish Ali (23) and Mohammed Jameel Ahmed (23) from Turbhe area after they were allegedly found to be in possession of three pistols and 40 live rounds, which they were going to sell to Pune-based real estate agents Sachin Goswami and Santosh Khose. The police went on to arrest Goswami and Khose and recovered three more pistols and 47 live rounds from them.
